Ryder Cup fans ‘Cink’ 36,000 pints

Brains is celebrating success at the Ryder Cup after learning that more than 36,000 pints of Brains beer were sold at the Celtic Manor Resort during the event.

Among the converts was Team USA golfer Stewart Cink, who discovered a taste for Brains Black. Writing on Twitter he said “didn’t have any Guinness but did discover a new one called Brains Black Welsh Stout. Very good indeed!”

Brains Black was on sale in all hotel and hospitality bars alongside SA Smooth. Mini bars in hotel bedrooms were also fully stocked with Wales’ best loved beer, meaning Team Europe and USA golfers were able to celebrate or commiserate over a pint of Brains.

Richard Davies, Sales and Marketing Director at Brains said: “The Ryder Cup offered us a once in a lifetime opportunity to introduce our beers to consumers from around the globe. To learn that so many visitors chose our beers is a fantastic result. The added bonus was hearing Stewart Cink describe Brains Black as ‘very good indeed’ to his 1.2 million followers on Twitter.”
