S4C characters come to life for North Wales school children

Characters from the new pre-school series, Cei Bach, currently shown on S4C’s nursery service Cyw, will visit primary schools in north west Wales next week.

Siwan Siw (Sioned Wyn), Brangwyn (Darren Stokes), Betsan Brysur (Leusa Mererid) and Captain Cled (Eilir Jones) will be promoting Cei Bach, which is filmed in Porth-y-gest near Porthmadog, and broadcast every Friday afternoon at 1.15pm.

The tour will visit schools in Bangor, Caernarfon, Pwllheli, Bala, Tywyn, Harlech and Dolgellau over five days.

Cei Bach follows the adventures of Prys Plismon and his friends. Prys and his wife Mari keep Glan y Don Bed and Breakfast and the series covers stories about his work as a policeman, the B&B’s activities and life as part of a community.

Siân Eirian, S4C’s Head of Children’s Services, says, “I’m sure Cei Bach will capture the imagination of viewers right from the start. This tour is a great way for the school children of the area to meet these vibrant and colourful characters face-to-face. As part of the development of the Cyw service, we’re delighted to introduce new series and characters, which sit alongside well-established favourites like Sali Mali and Sam Tân.”
