On the 8th of November Mail Boxes Etc. Cardiff released a Crowdfunding Appeal Video for the Welsh Charity Life for African Mothers (LFAM) to raise awareness of their work, which focuses on improving Maternal health in Africa.

Around 70,000 women die from eclampsia each year – It only costs 75p (per ampoule) to get the medication needed. It would only cost £3.75 per woman to treat it and save a life!

Approximately 100,000 women die from post partum haemorrhage, it only costs around 50p (per woman) to get the medication to treat this!

The appeal video has been launched on the crowdfunding platform http://www.sponsume.com/project/life-african-mothers-appeal-film in a bid to encourage donations for LFAM.

Life for African Mothers (LFAM) was initiated in 2005 by several people including the inspirational Chief Executive Officer and Co- Founder Angela Gorman. The video highlights how the charity aims to make giving birth safer in Sub Saharan Africa and help save the lives of women through providing medication which treats eclampsia and post partum haemorrhage.

Life For African Mothers goal is to reduce maternal mortality by 75% by 2015 and this appeal video will hopefully increase contributors to the charity, allowing mothers in developing countries, particularly Sub Saharan Africa to be saved.
