A young media and film graduate from the Caerphilly county borough is hoping to corner the local video production market with his new business venture.
Scott Phllips has launched a new multi-media business called ‘Everlong Productions’ from a base in Pontlottyn. The firm offers clients a wide range of video and DVD production skills covering events, music, corporate and weddings etc.
Pontlottyn is located in the Heads of the Valleys Funding area, so Scott has been able to access funding to get the venture off the ground through the Heads of the Valleys Business Seed Capital Fund.
He has been working closely with Caerphilly county borough council’s business development team who have offered support and advice.
“It’s very exciting to see my business plans take shape,” said Scott, “Starting out is a daunting prospect, but the support I’ve received from the council and other local agencies has been much appreciated. I’m expanding my customer base all the time and word is spreading about the quality of the products on offer so I’m really looking forward to seeing the firm grow in the future.”
The Heads of the Valleys Business Seed Capital Fund provides financial support to help local residents set up an eligible business (excluding retail) for the first time.
The flexible grant scheme is delivered through a partnership across the local authority areas of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Torfaen. It has been designed to help residents of the Heads of the Valleys set up a full-time business for the first time, who are not able to access any other sources of funding.
