Scouting mission to learn about RNLI

Members of the 1st Gwernymynydd & Mold Scouts recently paid a visit to Flint Lifeboat Sation.

The Scouts met RNLI volunteer crewmembers, had the opportunity to get kitted up, inspect the Flint lifeboat ‘Sir Y Flint’ and learn about crew training.

The volunteer lifeboat crew had only returned from a three service on the River Dee near Chester, an hour before the Scouts arrival.

Alan Forrester, Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: ‘We were pleased to be back in time for the Scouts’ visit. Who knows, some of these young people may be crew members of the future, and we are always looking for additional crew.’

Alan continued: ‘We are always keen to hear from anyone interested in joining the lifeboat crew who live or work in Flint.’

Alan can be contacted on 07785 593247.
