The Party of Wales leader Leanne Wood has welcomed a second endorsement from another former Lib Dem candidate ahead of the European elections.
The former North Wales chair for the Liberal Democrats and former candidate for the party Mark Young has today announced that he will be backing Plaid Cymru’s Jill Evans in the forthcoming election.
This follows an endorsement by the Lib Dem activist and former candidate Amy Kitcher who announced earlier this week that she will be voting for Plaid Cymru in these elections.
The Party of Wales Leader Leanne Wood said:
“Plaid Cymru’s calls for progressive voters to make their voices heard and votes count at this election is clearly being well received.
“Plaid Cymru offers a politics of hope instead of the politics of division and by re-electing Jill Evans to the European Parliament we can ensure that the issues that matter to people in Wales are kept on the political agenda and that we have a representative who will put Wales first each and every time.
“I welcome the latest endorsement from a former Liberal Democrat candidate and urge all who are disappointed with the nature of the UK Europhobic rhetoric to back Wales and back Plaid Cymru on May 22nd.”
