Second Tenovus Mobile Cancer Unit backed

Commenting on the decision of the Welsh Government to contribute £180,000 towards the cost of a second Mobile Cancer Support Unit for Tenovus, Darren Millar AM, Shadow Minister for Health, said:

“This is a welcome contribution to a very worthwhile cause, which will help Tenovus to expand the excellent care and chemotherapy and lymphedema treatment they already provide to patients across Wales.

“Since its introduction four years ago, Tenovus’ mobile support unit has travelled round the country raising awareness of cancer and taking treatment directly to some of our more isolated communities, where access to treatment would otherwise not be possible.

“A new support unit for Tenovus would help increase capacity potential and enable even more patients to access the dedicated service that Tenovus provides to cancer patients in Wales.

“Welsh Conservatives have long called for greater investment in cancer services and the establishment of a Cancer Treatments Fund to invest in modern cancer drugs, treatments and the expansion of mobile units.”
