Flintshire County Council’s Chair, Deputy Leader, and Chief Executive recently visited one of the county’s largest employers – Kingspan Insulated Panels – who are based on the Greenfield Business Park in Greenfield, Holywell.
Kingspan Insulated Panels are a global leader in the design and manufacture of high quality fire safe insulated roof, wall and facade systems for the construction industry. Locally, the company employs over 350 people, and was a recent recipient of two Flintshire Business Awards, for environment and sustainability.
Councillor Hilary McGuill, Councillor Tony Sharps and Colin Everett visited Kingspan Insulated Panels’ manufacturing base, and head office, and met some of the company’s senior management for a tour of the factory.
Speaking after the visit, Councillor Sharps, Deputy Leader of Flintshire County Council and Executive Member for Environment said:
“Visiting Kingspan has been like visiting an old friend. I remember, many years ago, when I was Leader of Delyn, it was a major boost to the economy to attract a company of the calibre of Kingspan and it has been wonderful to see how the company has grown into the best manufacturer of insulated and solar panels in the world.
“At a time of economic uncertainty, Kingspan continues to provide excellent work opportunities to a growing number of Flintshire employees, as well as benefiting smaller suppliers in the area, who provide the company with ancillary services such as parts, maintenance and transport.”
Colin Everett, Chief Executive of the Council, said:
“I am very impressed with the manufacturing operation at Kingspan. The company has a healthy order book and provides much needed employment to a highly skilled workforce. Kingspan is an asset to Flintshire’s industrial heritage and future, and the Council is a highly supportive partner.”
Kingspan’s Divisional Technical Director, Andy Patel, said:
“We were delighted to host this visit, which was a great opportunity to showcase the success of our operation here in Flintshire.
“Kingspan Insulated Panels is the largest division of the Kingspan Group, and it contributes around 40% of the Group’s turnover. Our main manufacturing site and the heart of our operation is located here on the Greenfield Business Park, which proves how committed we are to the local economy.
“We design and manufacture high quality insulated roof, wall and façade systems for the construction industry. Rainscreens, structural products, controlled environments, fall arrest systems and solar PV integration are also part of our extensive product portfolio.”
