Skyline Cycles Branches into the Catering World

The owners of Skyline Cycles, Steve and Debbie Moorwood in Afan Forest Park, have been given the green light to expand their business further by branching into the catering world.

They have recently obtained the lease to run Skyline CafÉ and Skyline Coffee Bar at Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre and Ponds.  The CafÉ is on the doorsteps of Afan Forest Park’s world class mountain bike trails and a series of walks, which will take you deep into the forest.

Steve and Debbie already operate two successful mountain bike shops in the Forest Park, one at Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre and Ponds and one at Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre, so naturally they are familiar with providing a high class quality service.

They plan to open the CafÉ in February and to further develop it throughout 2011. The opening will see some old favourites returning alongside some new flavours. Future developments will include the launch of the new Skyline Coffee Bar. It won’t be long before mountain bikers and other visitors to the Centre will be able to enjoy quality beverages and good homemade food at the Centre, using locally sourced goods where possible.

One of the best features of the CafÉ has to be its vast veranda, which overlooks the river, mountain bike trails and the majestic Forest Park itself.  Skyline CafÉ will act as the perfect place to relax after a long hard day on the trails or even a gentle walk on one of its many trails.

The Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, Councillor Ali Thomas said: “The Authority is committed to assisting local businesses, such as ‘Skyline CafÉ’, which is superbly located in Afan Forest Park and would like to wish the new owners of the CafÉ good luck and every success with their new exciting venture”.

Steve Moorwood, the new tenant said:  “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to operate the cafÉ.  We are looking forward to providing good quality customer focused services in the cafÉ, and working in partnership with the co-operative who run the overall Centre to further develop the establishment as the ultimate Welsh mountain bike and visitor centre”.

Skyline CafÉwill be open from February 2011.  The CafÉ will also be able to cater for external events.
