Slight delay reported in Pont Telpyn repairs

Denbighshire County Council is informing residents in Vale of Clwyd communities that work on repairing a bridge which partially collapsed in September 2008 has been slightly delayed.

The work on Pont Telpyn bridge, which links the A525 at Rhewl with the B5429 is progressing well, but has involved diverting the River Clwyd to allow the bridge to be propped temporarily and the foundations to be reconstructed that were damaged during the flooding in September 2009. The adjoining roads will also be resurfaced before being re-opened to traffic.

It is now expected that the scheme to repair this listed structure will be complete by the end of October 2009.

Denbighshire County Council would like to thank residents for their co-operation and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
