Snowdonia Mountains and Coast 2012 – marketing opportunities

Businesses offering accommodation to tourists visiting Gwynedd in 2012 are being urged to take advantage of the opportunity to advertise in the area’s main tourism marketing tools – the Snowdonia Mountains and Coast brochure and website.

The aim of the brochure and website – produced in partnership by Gwynedd Council and Conwy County Borough Council – is to attract visitors to the area for a holiday, short break or a day out.

It is expected that at least 100,000 copies of the brochure will be produced and distributed to tourists through domestic and overseas marketing, travel and holiday shows, with the website – www.visitsnowdonia.info receiving over 680,000 visitors since it was launched in September 2009.

Councillor John Wynn Jones, Senior Portfolio Leader for Development on Gwynedd Council said:

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Gwynedd’s businesses to display the variety of services they have to offer.

“Details of the businesses who pay for an advert in the brochure will be displayed on the Snowdonia Mountains and Coast website for free. With average monthly visitor figures of around 42,000 this is a perfect marketing opportunity for Gwynedd companies to promote Snowdonia as a popular tourist destination.”

The closing date for accepting application forms has been extended to 14 October 2011.
