South Caernarfonshire Soroptomists raise £2600 to help train local lifeboat crews

Over the past year members of the South Caernarfonshire Soroptomists Club have been busy raising money to help pay for the training of their local volunteer lifeboat crews at Abersoch, Criccieth, Porthdinllaen and Pwllheli. A total of £2600 was raised by various means including a duck race.

At a ceremony at Criccieth lifeboat station on Thursday, 21 April, 2011 a cheque for £650 was presented to each station by Sue Williams, President of the Soroptomists and Chaplain of the Criccieth Lifeboat Station. In presenting the cheques she said how pleased the Soroptomists were to help volunteers from the community who give so much of their time in the important work of saving lives at sea.
