St David’s RNLI lifeboat station’s new launching tractor arrives

Thursday 15 October saw the arrival of a new tractor at St David’s RNLI lifeboat station, for the purpose of launching and recovering the station’s inshore lifeboat.

Because of the inaccessibility of the station, due to the width of the steps, the only way to deliver the tractor was by sea. This was accomplished with the assistance of Derick Rees and his landing craft.

The tractor left Porthclais Harbour on board the craft and made its way successfully to the RNLI station. Accompanying the tractor with Derick was the St David’s Lifeboat Mechanic, Michael Phillips.
