Staff tackle Tour de France climbs for Ty Gobaith

Two members of North Wales Police staff are setting off for France later this month to cycle up three of the toughest mountain climbs in Tour de France history in three consecutive days (17th, 18th and 19th of September).

James Sutton and Giles Jones (of North Wales Police iGroup) and Neil Davies will cycle up mountains, from the Alps to the Pyrenees. These are Alpe d’Huez, Mont Ventoux and le Col du Tourmalet, totalling an accent of 15,770 feet!

Giles Jones of iGroup said: “We are raising money for Ty Gobaith in memory of our friend and colleague, Jan Watson, who passed away after a courageous fight with cancer in 2008.

“Jan was an amazing lady, with a huge heart and remains a sorely missed member of our team.”

Earlier this year, iGroup staff scaled Snowdon, raising almost £750 for Ty Gobaith, a charity that was very important to Jan.
