Still time to cut your energy bills

Home owners on Anglesey still have time to cut their energy bills as a successful energy efficiency project draws to an end.

Over the last three years, more than 7,500 Anglesey properties have benefited from free cavity wall and loft insulation as part of the ‘here to Help’ scheme. This is helping make a significant contribution towards the Council’s drive to reduce its carbon emissions by 2012.

The ‘here to Help’ scheme is a partnership between British Gas and the Isle of Anglesey County Council, together with specialist insulation suppliers and installers, Hillserve.

Housing portfolio holder, Councillor William Hughes, explained, “The programmed ‘here to Help’ work will soon come to an end with Llanfairpwll being the last of the 40 wards to benefit.”

He added, “The scheme has already helped thousands of households reduce their fuel bills and to keep their homes warmer, but there are still many more households who have yet to take advantage of this offer. I would encourage them to take advantage of this excellent scheme.”
