Still Time to Enter Cardiff International Poetry Competition

Literature-WalesThe closing date for the 2014 Cardiff International Poetry Competition is fast approaching.

The competition will be judged by award-winning poets Lemn Sissay and Rhian Edwards. First Prize is a massive £5000. Additional prizes are £500 for second place, £250 for third and five runners-up receive £50 each. All entries to the competition will be judged anonymously, so this is a great opportunity to have your poetry judged on its own merits.

However, time is running out as there are now only a few days left until the closing date on Friday 14 March. So, if you think your poem has what it takes to win £5000 then send us your entry now.

The competition is open to writers of any nationality and from any country. Entries will be accepted provided that they are in English, they have not previously been published in any form, the author is living, they are not translations of another author’s work and the poem is original and entirely the entrant’s own work. Poems may be submitted on any subject but they must be no more than fifty lines in length. Entry fee is £7.00 per poem.

Do not lose any time in entering your poem – visit the Literature Wales website www.literaturewales.org/cipc/ and download an entry form today or call Literature Wales on 029 2047 2266 to request a hard copy in the post.
