Stolen fork-lift truck recovered in Caernarfon

Teamwork paid dividends on Tuesday (16th March) when the police helicopter crew and roads policing officers recovered a fork lift truck which had been reported as stolen.

Shortly before 8am yesterday morning, North Wales Police received a report that a fork lift truck had been stolen from a building site in Waunfawr.

Officers were told that the truck was fitted with a tracker and enquiries immediately progressed.

The force helicopter, NW01, carried out a search and the truck was located in the Caernarfon area.

The crew directed roads policing officers to the general area, and with the assistance of a tracker device, they then located the truck inside a unit on the Peblig Industrial estate.

Local officers attended and arrested a 63-year-old man in connection with the incident. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police enquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have seen suspicious behaviour in the Waunfawr area, or anybody who may have information regarding the incident is asked to contact officers at Caernarfon Police Station on 101, or Crimestoppers Wales anonymously on 0800 555 111.
