pemb dancePupils at Pembrokeshire Leisure School of Dance stepped their way through a festive dance competition this month.

The dance pupils showed off their skills in five sections – Freestyle, Classical, Modern Sequence, Ballroom and Latin –  at the Christmas Cracker Dance Competition at Milford Leisure Centre.

The overall trophy for up and coming young dancer in all five sections was awarded to six year-old Jazmin Rees, who attends classes at Haverfordwest.

Trophies for up and coming new dancers in each section were awarded to:

Freestyle: Molly Haynes

Classical: Jazmin Rees.

Modern Sequence: Emily Lloyd.

Ballroom: Bethan Arnold.

Latin: Owen John.

In the Open Social competition the Open Latin couples event was won by:

Juvenile
1st – Shaun Hazell and Nia Colella
2nd – Kaitlynne Cutajar and Jemima Richards
3rd – Megan Carlisle and Jazmin Rees

Junior/Youth
1st – Emma Hart and Gaynor Jeffries
2nd – Dylan Allen and Ellie Jenkins
3rd – Stephanie Rayner and Sophie Williams

The Open Adult Modern Sequence couples event was won by:
1st Paul Brockway and Brenda Absolom
2nd Paul Barnard and Jean Susdorf
3rd Mark and Christina Lewis

Disco team events also added to the fun and excitement of the day.

Judges for the dance sections were Ray Wheeler and Suzanne Blake from Somerset.
