Neath Port TalbotNeath Port Talbot Council’s climate change team are asking for your views on how you think climate change is affecting you and the county borough.

The team have put together an on line survey and is asking residents, employees and local businesses to complete the five minute survey by visiting the council’s homepage on the website www.npt.gov.uk

With COP15, the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, taking place from the 7th December, climate change has received a huge amount of publicity in the media during the last few weeks which makes your views on this subject all the more important.

The Neath Port Talbot climate change team need to know what you think about climate change so that they can target their work on the areas that you feel are important to you and which will address what you think are the biggest issues and barriers to adapting to climate change and reducing your carbon footprint.

80% of people in the UK say that they feel climate change is a threat and are willing to change their behaviour to help to address the problem.

Leader of the Council Ali Thomas said “We all need to act now to make a positive step towards reducing the impacts we have on the environment.

“Identifying the areas of climate change that you feel need to be addressed is one way in which we can show our commitment to you and help to reduce our county borough’s carbon footprint”

Feedback from the survey will be made public in the next three months and fed into a strategy that will better address climate change needs locally.
