Suspensful show at St Donat’s

Of all the structural shapes in the landscape, the suspension bridge is one of the most graceful.

Web of Iron – Nature, Art and Engineering, which is at St Donat’s Arts Centre until December 18 focuses on the engineering heritage of Wales and illustrates the early development of the suspension bridge looking at the bridges at Menai, Merthyr Mawr, Llangollen and Conwy.

Web of Iron was rated as the top science event in March 2009 by BBC Focus magazine and featured in Beautiful Britain.

Stephen K Jones from the Institution of Civil Engineers will be delivering his free talk on the exhibition on December 5 at 3pm.
