There are seven Premier League fixtures left at the Liberty Stadium this year and Swansea people are urged to become city ambassadors.
Many thousands of Stoke, Bolton, Manchester United, Aston Villa, QPR, Tottenham and Fulham fans will be visiting the city to watch their sides in action before Christmas.
This is why Swansea people are asked to again show why the city has a reputation for being so friendly and helpful.
Swansea Council tourism bosses say even little things can help, such as knowing where the Tourist Information Office, the railway station and the bus station are located.
People with smart phones are also being encouraged to download a free holiday guide app on the Swansea Bay area so they’ll be able to give visitors tips and advice on local accommodation, activities, restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
Cllr Graham Thomas, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Recreation, said: “We’ve already trained taxi drivers to be city ambassadors as part of the Celtic Wave project but all city residents can do the same thing by getting clued up on what to see and do in Swansea, Mumbles and Gower.
“There are so many people from other parts of the UK and the world coming to the city for the Premier League and this gives everyone a chance to further raise Swansea’s profile as a friendly city where all visitors get a warm Welsh welcome. We have even named the away fans stand as the Croeso Stand.
“Just knowing the location of travel hubs and having time for visiting fans gives off all the right messages about the city. This is a chance to build on all the positive things visiting fans this season have already said about Swansea.”
Wigan and Sunderland are among the clubs to have played at the Liberty Stadium so far this season.
Sunderland fan Steve Dean said: “It was the first time in more than 20 years that I’d been to Swansea and it’s obviously changed a lot. We stayed at the Ibis Hotel and went to Wind Street after the game. We really enjoyed our stay and everyone was really friendly.”
Paul Kendrick, Wigan Athletic reporter for the Wigan Evening News, said: “I’d definitely recommend Swansea as a place where visiting Premier League fans should spend a few days in when their team’s playing at the Liberty Stadium. It’s got a lot to offer.”
