Talent shines at Youth Arts showcase

Dynamic young dancers, musicians and artists all showed off their talents at Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Youth Arts Showcase at the Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd.

Rhondda Cynon Taf’s very own breakdancing crew Get Fresh performed, as well as young dancers from Expressions Dance Company.

Artworks Youth Theatre took to the stage and there was live music from up-and-coming local band Ladies Love A Superhero; Jessica Jenkins and the Take pART ‘Glee Choir’.

Photography, short films and poetry also went under the spotlight at the event, staged by Rhondda Cynon Taf Youth Arts Strategic Partnership, whose members include the Council’s Cultural Services; Services for Young People, plus the local voluntary sector arts organisations Valleys Kids, RCT Community Arts and Spectacle Theatre.

Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Cllr Robert Bevan, said: “This hugely enjoyable event was a great opportunity for young people from across Rhondda Cynon Taf to show off a wealth of talent.”
