Tenby RNLI volunteers assist woman fallen off rocks

Tenby all weather lifeboat launched on Wednesday (27th October) at 4:21pm after a woman fell on rocks at Skrinkle Haven beach and sustained injuries which included a broken wrist and a possible dislocated elbow.

The woman was with her children exploring the isolated beach near Manorbier when the accident happened. With no easy access and an incoming tide the RNLI ‘Y’ boat was deployed with trained RNLI first aiders carrying first aid equipment. The crew members assisted Tenby and Manorbier rescue team to treat the casualty.

Tenby inshore lifeboat was also launched in case a sea evacuation was required. It was decided the safest method of retrieval was via helicopter so the casualty was stabilised while RAF Rescue helicopter 169 was tasked to land on the beach and evacuate the casualty and her children to hospital. Once the beach was cleared of all personnel both lifeboats returned to station.
