The Countdown Begins for the Dinefwr Literature Festival 2014

Literature-WalesThe countdown begins for the opening of the Dinefwr Literature Festival taking place this weekend in the stunning grounds of Dinefwr Park and Castle.

The three-day, bilingual festival opens its doors on Friday 20 June, making a welcome return to Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire with an eclectic mix of literature, music, poetry, comedy and activities for children of all ages.

Come for the day or pitch your tent and stay for the whole weekend to see award-winning poets, bestselling writers, internationally renowned musicians and tomorrow’s stars.  Dinefwr Literature Festival is the perfect place for families, with entertainment for children and plenty of exciting places in the grounds to explore or just run wild.

The packed programme of over 100 events includes: Helen Dunmore; Gillian Clarke; Owen Sheers; Nathan Filer; Gruff Rhys; Charlotte Church; Alexis Taylor; Ade Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds; the Wimpy Kid Show; Bridget Christie; Viv Albertine and Carmarthenshire’s very own Cate Le Bon.

In the centenary year, the festival will also pay tribute to Dylan Thomas, with events throughout the weekend celebrating his life and work which includes hosting a replica of his famous writing shed.
