The latest news from Gwynedd at the click of a button

More and more people are using the internet and social network sites in particular to find out the latest news and updates – and this is just as true when it comes to local services like public libraries.

This is why Gwynedd Council’s Library Service has launched new social network pages which will provide the very latest news for users. Gwynedd Council’s libraries Facebook and Twitter pages have been officially launched.

Hywel James, Gwynedd Council’s Principal Librarian said: “A large number of Gwynedd Council libraries’ users use the internet to renew books, DVDs and to look through our online catalogue.

“With the use of social networking sites increasing every day, we as Gwynedd Council’s Library Service were keen to ensure that users could find out about our services on sites like Twitter and Facebook as well as the library pages on the Gwynedd Council website.

“These new pages on the social networking sites enable our followers to get the latest news, send a question to one of Gwynedd Council’s librarians and look at the service’s online catalogue.

“There is also a whole host of information available on the library pages on the Gwynedd Council website where you can join the library, search the catalogue, access to reference websites, and of course there are also a wide-range of resources available at every one of Gwynedd Council’s libraries. We would urge those who aren’t already members to do so, you can then borrow books, DVDs as well as making free use of the computers at our libraries.”
