The signs are looking good for Craft Wales

An Ystrad Mynach business which produces bespoke timber designs continues to go from strength to strength after it received grant funding to assist in the development of the company.

Craft Wales specialises in the design and production of high quality timber structures such as outdoor classrooms, playhouses, amphitheatres and signage.

The business was awarded a Local Investment Fund grant, which went towards the purchase of a piece of equipment called a ‘CNC Router’, which will enable the business to ‘carve’ into the wood, which is quicker, more efficient and longer lasting than their current method of ‘burning’ words and pictures into the timber.

Cllr Ron Davies, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Planning said, “Since it was established in 2006, Craft Wales has gone from strength to strength and continues to be a shining example of what can be achieved, even in this challenging economic times”.

Craft Wales’ Director, Paul Hogg said, “We are extremely thankful for all the support we have received from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Advisory Services team. The Local Investment Fund has undoubtedly enabled us to move into a new market sector which we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to”.

The Local Investment Fund is available to 15 local authorities across West Wales and the Valleys Convergence region, including six local authorities in South East Wales.

They have been awarded EU Funding through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), delivered through the Welsh Assembly Government, to provide grant funding to assist businesses within their areas.
