Daredevil Rebecca has bravely signed up to take part in a skydive in order to raise funds for the RSPCA’s Newport Animal Centre.

As Deputy Centre Manager, Rebecca is keen to raise as much as she can for the centre which looks after cats, dogs, rabbits and other domestic animals. At any one time the centre is caring for over 100 animals.

The 29-year-old said she can’t wait to take the daring leap at Swansea’s airfield on Saturday. (August 2)

“I just thought, ‘I’m going to jump out of a plane’ and within 10 minutes I had booked it,” said Rebecca.

“I am really excited about it. I’ve done a bungee jump before but I’ve never jumped out of a plane!

“My target to raise is £500. So far I’ve raised around £200 online and £150 offline. So this week I will be getting as many people to sponsor me as possible.

“And then once I’ve done it I’m hoping more people will donate then as well.”

She said the money raised will go towards buying some new equipment.

“We are specifically looking to buy some agility equipment so we can hold some fun activities and people can spend some time with the dogs at the same time,” she said.

Centre Manager Debbie Caffull is also doing her bit to raise funds for the centre by taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 5.

Anyone who would like to donate to Rebecca’s skydive challenge should visit her fundraising page at https://www.justgiving.com/Rebecca-Jeffery or you can text BECJ69 £2/£5/£10 to 70070 to donate.
