The Ysgol Yr Hendre Community Fund is now open

Wynne Construction, the company which is building the new Ysgol yr Hendre in Caernarfon on behalf of Gwynedd Council has earmarked a sum of £3,000 to be distributed as grants to community groups for projects which will benefit people in the school’s catchment area.

Chris Wynne, Wynne Construction Managing Director said: “All of us at Wynne Construction are very proud to be associated with the construction of Ysgol yr Hendre and I hope that establishing this grant fund will contribute, in a positive way, to community life in the area”.

Councillor Dyfed Edwards, Leader of Gwynedd Council, added: “The construction of the new Ysgol yr Hendre is a very important development in Caernarfon of course. As a Council, we welcome this fund which has been set up in the wake of the development – the money will provide groups in the area with an ideal opportunity to develop projects which will benefit the local community.”

Gwynedd Council’s Regeneration Unit will administer the grant – applications for sums of up to £500 will be accepted from each group. But please hurry – the closing date for receiving applications is Friday, 9 September 2011.
