Three people saved from drifting dinghy by Barmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat

Barmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 13.28hrs on Sunday 30th May when a report was received of two dinghies in trouble in Barmouth Harbour.

One powered dinghy with four persons on board was stuck in the wooden section of Barmouth Bridge. As the lifeboat approached, the dinghy floated free. The occupants of the boat were all okay.

Another dinghy with four people on board was seen to be drifting in the channel from the harbour out to sea. One person from the dinghy jumped into the sea and began to swim ashore. During this time the lifeboat recovered the other three people and the dinghy. The lifeboat also picked up the person who was swimming to the shore.

All four persons and the dinghy were returned to the harbour where they were handed over to the coastguard.
