Three wanted after Newport street robbery

Gwent Police are appealing for information following a robbery which occurred at 7am on Friday 1st January.

A 23 year old man from Newport was walking down Carpenter’s Arms Lane, Newport when he was approached by 3 men. They pushed him to the ground, assaulted him and demanded money. After taking a small quantity of cash they made off from the scene in the direction of the Pill area via High Street and Commercial Street.

The victim sustained cuts and bruises to his face.

The first offender is described as a white male, aged between 18 and 22 years old, around 5’8″ tall of medium build with short light coloured hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a light coloured top and black zip up jacket.

The second offender is described as a white male, aged between 18 and 22 years old. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue and white checked hooded top.

The third offender is described as a white male, aged between 18 and 22 years old. He was wearing light blue jeans, a white and green striped jumper and a dark blue hooded jacket. He was also wearing a white plastic sun visor.
