Trinity Arts Festival Comes to Lampeter

Trinity Arts Festival events are being held in Lampeter for the first time this year.  Three musical performances are taking place on the campus of the University of Wales Lampeter during the month of June as part of the Festival’s magnificent programme of music and drama performances.

On Wednesday 9 June 2010, a lunchtime organ recital by Jeff Howard will take place in the St David’s Chapel of the University.

Then on Sunday 13 June 2010, at 7:30pm, Robyn Lyn and Caryl Hughes (winner of the Stuart Burrows International Voice Award in 2009) perform with the Chamber Orchestra of Wales in a classical concert conducted by Alwyn Humphries.

The third event in Lampeter is A night at the Opera on Thursday 24 June 2010, at 7:30pm in the Old Hall of the University.  Ros Evans, Kate Woolveridge and Gareth Rhys Davies present an evening of operatic favourites from Mozart and Rossini through to present day. These three internationally-renowned singers promise to delight with numbers such as Una Voce poco fa from the Barber of Seville and the ever-popular Flower Duer from Delibes’ opera Lakme. With anecdotes and hilarious stories from the world of opera, you are guaranteed an evening of high class entertainment.

The Lampeter venues have been added to the Festival as part of the move towards the formation of the new University of Wales Trinity Saint David in September this year.

Tickets for all events in Lampeter can be purchased from the box office by phoning 01570 422351 or calling into the Reception of the University of Wales Lampeter.  Details of other Trinity Arts Festival events, which range from a puppet show to fine art exhibitions to theatre performances at venues in Carmarthen, at Newton House and at Dinefwr House in Llandeilo, can be found at http://www.trinity-cm.ac.uk/en/events
