Trustmark tackles rogue traders

Local traders are being encouraged to sign up to a new scheme, which aims to help tackle rogue traders in South East Wales.

The South East Wales Trustmark Scheme is a government-endorsed scheme, which helps consumers find reputable businesses to carry out work inside and outside their home, by providing a reliable list of approved traders for the South East Wales area.

Trading Standards teams from Caerphilly County Borough Council, Monmouthshire County Council, Newport City Council and Torfaen County Borough Council have joined forces as part of the scheme, and are currently looking to recruit businesses that feel they fit the required criteria, and would like to join the Trustmark scheme.

A launch event for the scheme is being held on Thursday 18th March at County Hall, Cwmbran from 6pm, and business owners are encouraged to come along to the event to find out more.
