Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar is urging as many people as possible to turn up to a public meeting to discuss the on-going reviews into health services in North Wales.
The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is currently undertaking a number of reviews into NHS services across North Wales. Services under review include maternity, neonatal, obstetric and paediatric services, and emergency general surgery services. Darren Millar, AM for Clwyd West has organised the public meeting to ensure that the views of local people are able to influence decisions about local NHS services.
When asked to comment Darren said:
‘There has been widespread public concern over the way in which some of these reviews are being conducted. The options being considered could result in some hospital services being downgraded or withdrawn from one or more of our three main North Wales hospitals in Bangor, Bodelwyddan and Wrexham.
‘I have organised this meeting to ensure that the views of the people of North Wales are able to influence decisions about local NHS services at the earliest opportunity. It is important that there is maximum public engagement in these reviews.
‘Anyone with an interest in North Wales NHS services should attend this meeting.’
The public meeting will take place at 7pm on Friday, 26th November, at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan, Abergele, LL22 7HE. Space at the meeting venue is limited and those wishing to attend should contact Darren’s constituency office tel: 01745 839117
