Twm o’r Nant Taking Shape

DSCF0131Construction work is progressing on the the £1.4m extension and remodeling project at Ysgol Twm o’r Nant, Denbigh. The project has been funded by Welsh Government and Denbighshire County Council in light of the growing demand for education through the medium of Welsh.

In the past few weeks the excavation work has been completed and the steel structure is now in the process of being erected.

The work will see construction of an extension that will provide three new classrooms, a new school hall and the extension and remodeling of the current school reception. All temporary accommodation will be removed from the site as a result of this work. In addition, external areas will be landscaped, to create a more suitable playing field for the school.

Denbighshire County Council has worked in close partnership with the School, Governors and other key stakeholders in developing the project.

Dylan Jones, The Chair of Governors for Ysgol Twm o’r Nant said that:

We are delighted with the progress so far on the new extension. It is an exciting time for the school and we are eagerly anticipating the completion of the work.

As a Governing Body we would like to thank all site users for their cooperation at the start of the school term and for their continued cooperation in the future.

The project is expected to be completed by August 2014.
