Two call-outs in a day for Angle’s RNLI inshore lifeboat

Angle’s RNLI D class inshore lifeboat was called out twice on Thursday (3 June) to go to the aid of boats in difficulties in the Milford Haven Waterway.

At 11.22am, the inshore lifeboat Richard John Talbot Hillier (D-638) launched to a report that a rowing boat was in trouble in West Angle Bay.

On arrival, it was found that a speedboat had towed the rowing boat to the shore. After checking that all was okay, the lifeboat returned to her station.

Eight hours later, at 7.22pm, the inshore lifeboat went to the aid of a man in the water off Milford after his sailing dinghy capsized. Two other boats were also on the scene to assist.

One of the inshore lifeboat’s volunteer crew members entered the water and assisted the man on to a pilot boat, which took him to the Milford Haven Port Authority jetty where an ambulance was waiting.

The inshore lifeboat crew righted the dinghy and took it in tow to the Port Authority jetty.
