Two children can play fun football for the price of one in January, thanks to a special offer by Sport Pembrokeshire.
The Fun Football scheme, which is for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11, is running the offer during the whole of January 2011.
“If you’ve got a friend who hasn’t tried Fun Football before, why not bring him or her along, and they can play for free!” said Cllr Rob Lewis, Cabinet Member for Cultural Services, Sports, Leisure and Tourism.
Fun Football schemes are run weekly at Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Tenby, Crymych, St Davids, Milford Haven, and Pembroke.
It is very much a ‘turn up and play’ environment, welcoming children who have never played before, as well as those who are attached to a football club.
Players are required to bring suitable footwear, clothing (including wet weather clothing), shin pads and a drink.
All coaches are qualified and CRB checked.
Parents/ guardians will be required to complete a registration form for the player when they first attend.
Details for January’s Fun Football sessions around the County are as follows:
Haverfordwest (Sir Thomas Picton School ATP) Saturday 22nd and 29th January. 10am to 12 pm. £3.50 per child.
Crymych Leisure Centre (Sports Hall), Saturday 15th, 22nd and 29th January. 10am to 11am, £2.50 per child.
Fishguard Leisure Centre (ATP), Friday 14th, 21st and 28th January. 4pm to 5pm. £2.50 per child.
St Davids Leisure Centre (Sports Hall), Monday 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st January. 5pm to 6pm. £2.50 per child.
Milford Haven Leisure Centre (Meads Sports Hall), Wednesday 12th, 19th and 26th January. 4pm to 5pm. £2.50 per child.
Pembroke Leisure Centre (ATP), Saturday 15th, 22nd, 29th January. 10am to 11am. £2.50 per child.
Tenby (Greenhill ATP): Friday 14th, 21st, and 28th January. 5pm to 6pm. £2.50 per child.
