Two further Taff firms receive important investment

Two further Rhondda Cynon Taf businesses have benefited from an important new investment scheme that aims to help local firms expand and grow.

Just weeks after Taffs Well-based Insteng Process Automation Ltd secured funding for new machinery to make it more effective and competitive, Asbri Golf Ltd in Pontypridd and B Harris and Sons Ltd in Pontyclun have also secured funding.

The assistance was given to both firms by the Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Business Support Unit, which is distributing the Local Investment Fund, funded in part by the EU’s Convergence European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Assembly Government.

The scheme has been launched to enable eligible businesses from across the county to secure the support they need to enable development, growth and enhancement.

This could include new capital equipment, marketing and website development or even improvement works to a building.

Asbri Golf Ltd, which is based on the Maritime Industrial Estate has secured financial support it needed to launch www.asbrigolf.co.uk, which offers an online showroom for the firm, showcasing to visitors its significant range of goods, including bags, luggage, head covers, gloves, electric trolleys, gifts alongsideits official Ryder Cup Range.

As well as the website, the assistance secured by the firm has allowed it to buy marketing materials and banners and to advertise its services in the local and trade press in a bid to boost trade.

Also benefiting from investment this month is B Harris and Sons Ltd, which is based on the Talbot Green Business Park and has received funding for a new Automated Edge Bander, which is the finishing tool in the production of quality wood furniture, the firm’s bespoke trade.

Cllr Paul Cannon, Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Housing, said: “Congratulations to Asbri Golf Ltd and B Harris and Sons Ltd for being the latest firms to benefit from this important new scheme.

“We are proud of the work we have carried out to date to provide assistance to eligible businesses who are looking to improve and expand and are pleased the new funding has enabled us to continue to do that.

“I urge local small and medium-sized enterprises that are interested in finding out more to make contact so we can work with them and assess if we can help.

“Of course, administering the Local Investment Fund is just part of the Business Support Unit’s job, it is working in many ways to assist the local economy, including via the Business Club.”
