Glamorgan moved to second place in LV= County Championship Division Two with an innings and four-run victory over Northamptonshire.
The win – sealed 20 minutes before lunch on day four – was the first time Glamorgan had secured back-to-back championship victories for six years.
James Harris’ eight wickets in the match helped the home side bowl Northamptonshire out for 253 and just 193. His wonderful start to the season has earned him a call up to the England Lions side to play Bangladesh at Derby next week.
Jamie Dalrymple’s first century of the season saw Glamorgan rack up 450 in their first innings. Mark Cosgrove also struck 85 and Jim Allenby contributed well to continue his excellent season.
The all-rounder – signed from Leicestershire in 2009 – made 72 and picked up five wickets in the match.
Glamorgan travel to Bournemouth on Sunday to face the ECB Unicorns in the Clydesdale Bank 40 League. They will be hoping to build on last Sunday’s victory over Worcestershire.
