Update: cash machine raid arrests

Police investigating the theft of an ATM machine from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd have released three men from Merseyside on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police continue to appeal to any witnesses who may have seen a dark coloured Volvo V50 car in the vicinity of the hospital or in the Bodelwyddan/St Asaph area during the early hours of the 15th December.

Detectives investigating the theft now believe that a stolen silver coloured BMW 3 series estate car which was recovered on the Roe Parc estate in St Asaph during the early hours of the 15th December was also connected with the offence and are appealing for anyone who might have seen the Volvo or BMW cars in the North Wales area on the night of Tuesday 14th into Wednesday 15th to come forward.

A police spokesman said: “We believe that these vehicles may have travelled together prior to the commission of the offence and there may be witnesses who have seen the vehicles and could assist in the investigation. We would urge any witnesses to come forward.”

Anyone with information can contact the investigation team at St Asaph CID on 101 if in Wales, or 08456071001 (Welsh line) 08456071002 (English line). Alternatively, individuals can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously with information on 0800 555 111.
