Roads and highways
The Vale experienced higher than expected levels of snowfall overnight. We’ve had 10 gritters out most of the night treating our main roads and highways. The gritters will continue to treat roads throughout the day.
Residents are advised that Butrills Road in Barry and Plassey Street in Penarth are currently closed due to the snow. It’s hoped that Plassey Street will be treated by 11.00am.
Other roads in the Vale may also be currently difficult to access and the council will do its best to clear these over the course of the day.
Leisure Centres and Vale attractions
At present Barry and Llantwit Major leisure centres are open. Penarth and Cowbridge leisure centres are currently closed but are likely to open later on – further updates will be publicised here.
Dyffryn Gardens is closed.
