Ieuan Wyn Jones, Deputy First Minister and Minister for the Economy and Transport and Julie Southern, Chief Commercial Officer for Virgin Atlantic will today officially opened Virgin Atlantic’s new customer service centre in Swansea.
The new customer service centre will run in conjunction with Virgin Atlantic’s existing operation in Crawley, West Sussex and will create more than 200 jobs in the Swansea area. Virgin Atlantic’s investment in this service centre has been supported by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Deputy First Minister, Ieuan Wyn Jones, said,
“Virgin Atlantic is one of the best known brands in world aviation and its decision to invest in Swansea is a great vote of confidence for the city and its workforce.
“This new facility provides a strong boost for the local economy with a high profile investor creating a range of valuable jobs and career opportunities which are particularly welcome during the current economic climate.
“Projects like these support our programme of economic renewal and we will continue to work with Virgin Atlantic to ensure success of its operations in Wales.”
Julie Southern, Chief Commercial Officer, Virgin Atlantic commented,

The new customer service centre will create 200 jobs in the Swansea area including reservations and customer relations roles.
