Wales Squad v Croatia

Craig Bellamy returns after missing the last three matches. It was thought that he may have been in Africa as part of his work with his charitable foundation, but this has been delayed for a few days to allow him to be with the squad.

There is just one uncapped player in the squad, Andy Dorman (St.Mirren), who will be hoping for his chance after being part of the squad for the last two games. There are returns from injury for Danny Gabbidon (WHU) and David Edwards (Wolverhampton Wanderers) who both missed the last game against Sweden at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea, in March.

Wales will have just one more friendly match now before the start of the European Championship qualifying campaign. That will be a home match with Luxembourg on August 11th. The venue is still to be decided for the match.

Wales manager John Toshack commented: ‘This will be a stern test for the players, especially as the Croatians expect a full-house in Osijek and a very passionate crowd. However, it fits the profile of opponents for us, with the matches coming-up against Montenegro and Bulgaria in the Autumn.’

The squad meets in South Wales on Wednesday 19th May before flying to Osijek on Friday 21st May.
