Wales v New Zealand Travel Advice

New Zealand are the visitors to Cardiff this Saturday, as part of the Autumn International rugby series at the city’s Millennium Stadium.

The evening kick off is at 5:15pm and fans travelling to the match are advised to plan their journeys well in advance, arrive early and be aware of road closures in the city centre.

Fans who do intend bringing their cars can ease worries over congestion and parking costs by car sharing and using park and ride services.

The sites can be accessed from J33 of the M4: follow the signs to the available location at the time of your arrival.  The service costs £5 a car.

The sites will have a staff presence from 9am and will open at 9:30am, with the first bus leaving at this time. They will close at 9:00pm, with the last services leaving pick-up points at 9.30pm.

The services are accessible for the disabled, people with movement difficulties and wheelchair users, with dedicated parking adjacent to the bus pick-up. Low floor buses and raised kerbs at both pick up and drop off points will also be in use throughout the day.

Coaches should leave the M4 at Junction 32, where they will be directed to Sophia Gardens. Parking here costs £10 and full driver facilities are available.

There will be a full road closure in place in the city centre from 3.15pm to 8pm

The following roads will be shut to traffic during that time:

  • Kingsway from its junction with North Rd / Boulevard de Nantes to its junction with Duke St.
  • Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Rd to its junction with Westgate St.
  • Tudor St from its junction with Clare Rd to its junction with Wood St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)
  • Plantagenet St & Beauchamp St from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)
