Wanted – 16 – 30 year olds with a passion for running their own Flintshire business

If you’re under 30 and run a successful business in Flintshire then there’s no better time than the present to promote yourself!

The team behind the Flintshire Business Awards are on the lookout for young businessmen and businesswomen who have set up a flourishing local company.

The Young Entrepreneur Award, sponsored by AGS Security Systems, is one of 11 categories in this year’s Business Awards, which are run as part of Flintshire Business Week 2010.

Kate Catherall, Assistant Business Development Officer at Flintshire County Council, is organising the awards. Kate said:

“At the Flintshire Business Awards, we fully recognise how important young people are in the world of business, and the vital contribution they make to the economy. Not only that, but young people are key to the country’s, and the county’s, economic future.

“For the Young Entrepreneur Award, we’re looking for young people under the age of 30 who have founded a successful business. The Award will go to a person, or even a partnership, who can show exceptional vision and leadership qualities, who can clearly recognise business opportunities, and who can prove that they have the ability to go the distance with their company, and make their business stand out from the crowd.”

This particular award is sponsored by Jonathan Turner, Managing Director of Mold-based AGS Security Systems, who were winners at the Flintshire Business Awards 2009.

Jonathan said:

“After winning the Flintshire Small Business Award and experiencing great publicity, which opened fantastic opportunities for us, AGS is taking this opportunity to encourage young entrepreneurs to go into business.”
