Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate visits Tŷ Hafan

Tŷ Hafan welcomed Welsh Liberal Democratic candidate Damian Chick this week when he paid a visit to the family hospice for young lives to meet some of the children, young people and their families who access its services.

Mr Chick was born with cerebral palsy which is a condition suffered by many of the children who spend time at Tŷ Hafan.  He is aiming to become the first disabled member of the Welsh Assembly, representing the Vale of Glamorgan, as a result of the election on 5 May.

After a tour of the hospice with Director of Care, Jayne Saunders and Chief Executive Ray Hurcombe, Mr Chick was clearly impressed by the philosophy of care which has earned Tŷ Hafan its reputation for providing specialist palliative care services for life-limited children, young people and their families.

“Tŷ Hafan is such an inspiring and friendly organisation with some amazing staff and it should be recognised as a flagship for palliative care in Wales.

“The Vale of Glamorgan should be proud to have such a wonderful service for life-limited children, young people and their families from across the principality”.
