Winklers rescued by Fishguard RNLI

RNLIFishguard RNLI all-weather lifeboat was turned out late Tuesday afternoon as darkness fell on a miserable, wet and windy evening to rescue two men in a 10 foot dinghy off Saddle Point between Goodwick and Fishguard.

Their small engine had failed whilst they were winkling off the rocks. They then tried to row to Lower Town Quay but the Force 8 offshore winds were too much.

A member of the public sounded the alarm and the lifeboat was on scene in a matter of minutes. The two men were transferred to the lifeboat and the dinghy taken under tow to Lower Town quay where they were met by the Coastguard and given suitable advice as the lifeboat returned to its pen just before 5pm.
