Women’s Six Nations skills clinics

The first of two skills clinics took place at Pencoed College prior to the Women’s Six Nations match on Sunday.

There was an excellent turnout of 55 women and girls’ who attended. This number included new players from Treorchy, Pencoed and Blackwood, while there were also experienced players from UWIC, Cowbridge, Pontyclun, Neath and Tylorstown.

The number of Under 15s and Under 18s girls from Cardiff Quins, took the coaches, Chris Garrett (women’s under 20s coach), Ceri Wyatt and Keith Hopkins (Ospreys under 18s coaches) by surprise but undeterred they pulled off an exciting rotation of passing and handling stations which all the players thoroughly enjoyed.

All three coaches commented on the enthusiasm and hard work of all the players involved.

The second session on Sunday 28th February, also at Pencoed College 11am – 12.30pm, will including two options:

Option 1 – KICKING led by Blues coach educator Scott Sneddon,

Option 2 – CONTACT SKILLS coaches TBC.
