Words Will Never Be Enough – musicians launch new compilation before tour of Welsh cathedrals

Charles Timberlake and John Daniels, best known for their gentle, inspirational and contemplative piano and instrumental music, announce the release of their new compilation – Words Will Never Be Enough.

Charles has firm Welsh roots.  His mother was born and brought up in New Quay where Charles spent childhood holidays.  His father was brought up in Cardiff and his parents were married at St Isan’s Church, Llanishen.  Many family members live in Wales including his second cousin, poet Samantha Wynne-Rhydderch.  Samantha’s second collection, Not in These Shoes, was shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year 2009; and her third book, Banjo, is published by Picador in June 2012.  Charles and Samantha will be performing together for the first time later in the year.

Charles will be giving informal lunchtime recitals in Brecon Cathedral on Monday 9th July at 1pm, in St Davids Cathedral on Tuesday 10th July at 12 noon and in Llandaff Cathedral on Wednesday 11th July at 1pm.  He is very much looking forward to bringing his music to Wales for the first time.

Charles and John’s music features regularly on Radio 2’s Good Morning Sunday with Aled Jones, where Charles has been interviewed three times.  Their arrangement of Make Me a Channel of Your Peace was included on Good Morning Sunday’s double CD compilation in 2009.

Words Will Never Be Enough, based around the theme of remembrance, is a mix of original compositions, popular ballads, and traditional and modern hymns.  Charles and John bring their own unique interpretation to classics that include O Valiant Hearts, Perhaps Love and Try to Remember – as well as showcasing a number of new compositions which have been written especially for the album.  Their arrangement of Love Divine, All Loves Excelling is based on two of the great Welsh tunes – Blaenwern and Hyfrydol.  Also included is their arrangement of Calon Lân.  As a memorial to those who lost their lives in the sinking of RMS Titanic one hundred years ago, an arrangement of James Horner’s My Heart Will Go On is also featured.  Charles and John hope the music will bring some form of comfort and peace, as well as a sense of encouragement for the future, particularly to those who have suffered a loss or sadness in their lives.

The new CD will be available to purchase online via www.charlestimberlake.co.uk/shop.html from 28th March 2012 and from Christian bookshops.  For more information please email [email protected].

It’s got to be something to do with the deep sensitivity with which the duo meticulously treat the tunes… that results in the most relaxing and spiritually inspirational listen…  The music goes very deep and genuinely restores the soul.
