World class accountants Coxeys strengthen their team

An award-winning firm of chartered accountants and statutory auditors is expanding.

Coxeys, who have offices in Wrexham and Saltney, have recruited a new member of the team.

Experienced Accounts Practitioner Ellen Plack, 32, says she is delighted to join such a go-ahead company.

Recently, Coxeys became the first accountancy practice in Wales to receive a Gold Investors in People award.

As a result, local AM Lesley Griffiths said Coxeys was “comparable with the world’s best” and hailed them as a shining example to the rest of Wales.

According to mother of one Ellen, accountancy is the perfect profession for her.

She said: “I’m a very logical person and I like figures. But accountancy is about much more than numbers, it’s about customer care and providing top class professional advice.

“I was very excited to join Coxeys. There’s a fantastic team here and they are so supportive.

“One of the things that attracted me was the emphasis they place on personal and professional development. They believe in investing in their staff.

Coxeys director Anthony Lewis was pleased they had been able to appoint somebody of Ellen’s calibre.

He said: “The area is now beginning to show signs of the economic upturn, and the green shoots of recovery are evident all around us.

“There are a lot of business out there that are growing and a lot of new business being established.

“We want to make sure that we’ve got a team in place to be able to take the challenge on, and to be ahead of the curve.

“In the past few years, we have seen four people who have qualified as accountants to complement experience of the directors.

“We are building firm foundations for the future growth of Coxeys.

“It is therefore important that our team has a broad range of skills to match the portfolio of our clients.

“We are a general practice offering a top class service right on the doorstep – city skills at provincial prices.

“We deal with a huge variety of clients from small sole traders to multi million pound international companies.

“That’s why we believe passionately in the personal and professional development of our team.

“I think the fact that we were awarded gold by Investors in People shows how much we believe in training and providing the opportunity for career progression.”

“The IIP assessor told us that gold represents world class best practice and shows that we are a really cutting edge organisation operating at the highest level of people management practice.

“We used the IIP framework as a business model for excellence – and we consider the award as much more than just a kitemark, it’s embedded in our ethos of client care and staff development.”
