Wrexham MP Ian Lucas has joined some of Great Britain’s leading basketball players at a Parliamentary event to promote the sport.
Mr Lucas joined Great Britain men’s captain Drew Sullivan and Great Britain women’s national team star Johannah Leedham at the event, organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Basketball.
The APPG is promoting the sport’s positive social impact of the sport within inner cities and deprived communities.
Speaking after the event, Mr Lucas said: “It may surprise some to learn that I was a keen basketball player in school. It was interesting to revisit those times alongside Team GB players during the event.
“I know the APPG on Basketball is producing a report on the impact the sport can have and I will read it with interest.”
